One night in particular when she had made dinner after a long hard day's work, Mother placed a plate of bread, butter and burnt toast in front of my father.I was waiting to see if anyone from them noticed the burnt toast.But to my surprise my father just ate his toast and asked me how was my day was at school.
I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember I heard my Mother apologizing to dad for the burnt toast.
And I will never forget what my father said: "Honey, I love the burnt toast."
Later that night, I went to kiss my dad good night and I asked him if he really liked his toast burnt.
He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your mother put in a long hard day at work today and she was really tired.
And besides...
A burnt toast never hurts anyone but harsh and rude words do!"
"You know son, life is full of imperfect things... & imperfect people.... I'm not the best and am hardly good at anything. I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else.
